Pic spam.
Here are the pics of my brother's wedding. Let me warn you that we're not the best of photographers; we tend to put fingers in the middle and that sort of thing. *LOL* Anyway, I managed to scan almost every picture and I'll give you links, because the pictures themselves are quite heavy..

For those who don't know, I'm the one with the pink shirt and the double chin in the first pictures *LOL*

Check behind the cut to see the truth ;P )

I'm finally here.

I can't believe it. :P

How is everyone?? I'll try to tell here how the last two or so weeks had been for me.

Let's go to the wedding first. Thursday, October 28th was the civil ceremony in a gorgeous morning. It was a very short affair with mostly families and a few friends of my sister-in-law; sadly, my relatives couldn't come until Saturday. We still had a great time, and Santiago was very exciting about tossing rice at the bride and the groom. Don't know if that happens somewhere else, but tossing rice at the newlyweds it's like wishing well being for the new family. Santiago had seen it in his parents' wedding's video and he couldn't wait to do the same to his uncle. :P

I didn't go to work that Thursday, at least in the morning. I went there in the afternoon and had lots to do between finishing the lists to send to Buenos Aires and helping Mariela (one of the teachers) to prepare the Halloween party.

Friday: I had the intention of getting up early that morning and work on the lists some more, but I ended up sleeping in. I went to work in the afternoon basically to get everything ready for the party, which took Mariela and I quite a long time. From 4 PM to 11 PM, I didn't sit down for more that two minutes, so you can imagine that my boots were killing me! By the time we finished cleaning and putting everything back where it belonged, I took a taxi home where I rushed to take the boots off *LOL* At the kitchen table I found a note my brother had left telling me that he had taped something for me; knowing how he works, I knew that if they were videos, he had lost the first half =D

I was right *LOL* He taped half of Quiet Riot's 'Cum On Feel The Noize', but then managed to tape the whole Poison video 'Unskinny Bop'. It didn't last long, though. ;) He taped half of Warrant's 'Cherry Pie' and then the entire 'Girls, Girls, Girls' of Motley Crue. I love that song, and I had been waiting for weeks to catch that video on TV.

Saturday: The big day. It went smoothly up until 6 PM (the wedding was at 8:30). Then, all hell broke loose! Mum and I went to the hairdresses; thank God we have one in our same block, so we didn't have to waste anytime getting there. I hope the pics turn out okay, cos he made us look pretty good! At 7 PM, Mum and I had an appointment with a make-up stylist to have our faces fixed *LOL* I could have done something, but my abilities with make-up are basic, just enough to look half decent at work. This woman made us look great, even I have to say it. My modesty went down the drain, as you can see. :P

The thing is, the stylist took longer than expecte with my mum, so by the time she was done, my brother was ready and was almost climbing up the walls. The groom, nervous??? NAH!!!!!!!!! *LOL* It was almost 8 PM and I still had to get my make up done, so I told them to go to the church and that I'd take a cab on my own and meet them at th church.

When the stylist finished with me, it was 8:25 PM. Did I mention that the wedding was at 8:30? Well, you can imagine what happened next. I tossed the clothes I was wearing aside and changed into the outfit I had bought in about a minute. I called a cab telling them to send it right away and when it arrived, I told the driver to get there as fast as he could. It was already 8:30.

I must say that it's customary for brides to arrive fashionably late, but I was sure I was going to get there after her! I wouldn't have forgiven myself. Thank God, by the time we got there, she hadn't arrived. I thanked the driver profusedly for driving across half the city like a madman to get me there on time *LOL* and jumped out of the car, ran into the church. I barely waved at the relatives sitting in 'our' side of the church before moving hastily yo the first row with my sister & co. It's unbelievable, but she arrived there before me, which never happens.

Anyway, I got to say hi and kiss some relatives' cheeks before the bride arrived and the ceremony started. Julieta wore a beautiful dress with a long train that gave her more than a headache during the evening, I'm afraid. While they were at the altar escorted by my mum and Julieta's uncle (her father died a couple of years ago) I stood at the side taking pictures and watching how my brother swayed dangerously back and forth and how mum asked him if he was alright and to please calm down. *LOL*

The ceremony was short and lovely and then we moved on to the reception, which was at the Motonautico Club, some sort of Marina, to give you an idea. A very nice place overlooking the sea and boats of all sizes. We waited there, chatting and catching up waiting for the newlyweds until they told us that they had arrived and that we had to go out to welcome them.

We went out and we were told to look at the road at one side, leaving the sea behind us. While everyone was expectantly staring at the road with coloured lights flashing in that way, someone exclaimed 'There they are!' But they weren't coming in the car - they were coming on a small yatch (sp?)from the sea!!! It was great!! Balloons came out of it, fireworks everywhere, and two very insecure newlyweds trying their best not to lose their balance on the yatch *LOL* It was lovely!!!! Santiago was like 'WOW!! Look at uncle Mauro!!! he's in a boat!!!' The thing was getting Julieta out of the boat with her dress, so between two men and my brother they lifted her up and put her down in the pier. :P

We went back into the hall, had half dinner and then it was waltz time. First the newlyweds, then them with their parents, then siblings and other relatives and friends. I was AMAZED that my brother could dance the waltz!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! *LOL* He wasn't John Travolta, but hey! He pulled it off rather nicely!

Then it was time to party. What's god about my cousins is that there are a few of them that are great for parties: they danced like madpeople, made you laugh and generally spreading good vibes. There was a point when the men grabbed Mauro, took him out and tossed him up and down a couple of times *LOL* You should have seen his face! :))

I'm not ashamed to say that in the heat of the moment, I did the bottle dance. The bottle dance, for everyone else except [info]epee_girl, consists in putting an empty bottle on the floor and dance sexily above it. *blushes* I did that. Twice. *blushes even more* One on my own, one with my brother's best friend. *ducks head*

All in all, as I told Jocelyn when she called me in the morning, we partied all night long, saw the sun rising from the sea in a beautiful morning, I danced my heart out, found my perfect dance partner in Guillermo, my brother's friend *LOL* and enjoyed it very much. We all did, actually. The relatives who came from Tandil were in awe at the newlyweds' entrance and were very happy with the whole thing as well.

Mom and I went back home at 6:30 AM, slept for about three or four hours. Jocelyn called me at 11 PM to check if I was going to get myself online to chat a bit, but I had to meet with the relatives for lunch. We went to my uncle's house, had a great laugh with my cousins, sunbathed and then came back home. I intended to go bed early, but I only did it at midnight. You can imagine my state right now...

I'm surely leaving important information out, but I'll add it as I remember it. I hope the pics turn out ok, cos the camera wouldn't rewind the film when it was done, even if we took it to be fixed for the same problem a week ago. :/ If not, once my brother gets the oficial and much better pics developed, I'll scan them and put them up here. What worries me is seeing ymself in the video dancing like a madwoman :P

That, and how long is going to take to get rid of a sore throat after singing and screaming to be heard above the music. :)

See ya all soon, I gotta run back to work!

I'll be gone.
As you know, my brother's wedding is coming and work is driving me mad, so you might not hear from me until Monday or Tuesday. Don't worry, I'll be fine (I hope so...) and I'll be back soon... With pics!!! *looks around in horror* *LOL*

Kisses!

Sunday.
Hi!

It was Mother's Day here today. The family met up at my sister's for lunch. Needless to say that, even if I didn't eat THAT much, it feels as if I had eaten like a pig. Too many brownies, I guess. :P I had to interact with my fave person in the whole world: my brother-in-law *LOL* As if!!! Could have been worst, though.

I've been working like mad and the wedding is just around the corner... ARGH!!! I think I'm gonna go mad with all the things I have to do. Thank God I already have the clothes, all I need now is to fix some things at work and I'm gonna be fine.

Not much to tell right now, but I'll try to get a much more detailed update tomorrow. TA!

So much for a couple of minutes :P Well, let’s say that life got in the way in the form of Orlando Bloom and fan fiction. That’s all I’m gonna say. *evil grin*

Guess what? I’m at work right now. Sure, I’m typing this in Word, but if I waited until I could sit down in front of a computer again I would only update this weekend. My journal looks so beautiful right now that I can’t leave it alone. [info]dyoselin, have I told you how much I love you today? *LOL*

What have I been up to? Not much. I told Jocelyn I might be going away for the weekend but I finally didn’t, which is good, otherwise she wouldn’t have found me at home when she called me last Saturday. :) She was so excited! And I’m really happy for you, Jocey! You deserve all the amazing reviews you’ve had at MITM and so much more! I’ve been telling you how good this story is since November – yet, it was November. I remember that very well because we were in the middle of the final exams’ rush. I remember reading bits of ‘SO’ whenever my boss wasn’t around. ;P Bad girl, I know. I should have been checking lists and names for spelling mistakes, but Jocelyn dragged me to the dark side. Unwillingly, of course. *evil grin*

Have I mentioned before that I started going to the gym? I actually started while I was on holidays, but now that I’m back at work I can barely go once a week. It’s not much, but that’s better than nothing, right? Right?! I guess I’m looking for someone to tell me that it’s fine so I don’t quit altogether. *LOL*

My brother’s marriage is causing havoc with my poor, third world-like personal economy. :P Is strange how, the more money you make, the more you need to cover your basic needs. *sigh* And it’s not like I’m always buying things and spending money on unnecessary stuff. *hides her brand new Nightwish’s CD from view* Well, it could always be worst… I could be spending it on medicines!

What else? I’ve been writing my right hand off lately. These are the times when I wished I could write with both hands to give that one a rest every once in a while. :o) I can’t complain, really. Ideas seem to flow down my arm to the paper, let’s hope it works. I guess it hopes when you’ve been going over the different scenes in your head for months, but they still change it once you get to write them. Sometimes I sit down with the intention of writing one thing and the chapter takes off in a very different direction that I first expected – it can be bad sometimes, but the most of the times it surprises me in a nice way.

I had the crappiest morning ever today. You know, the one that starts badly and goes on badly until you are fully awake like… four hours later? :P That kind of morning. I woke up to a loud noise that only God knows where it came from and of course, I couldn’t go back to sleep right away; not when the sound made you jump like three inches off the mattress. I was a zombie when I arrived at work – thank God my boss felt just the same… It would have been nasty with me in my usual grumpy self and with him all energetic. I still feel a bit sick… I hope I’m not coming down with something… Again. I lost the count of how many times I’ve been sick this year! It’s the stress, I’m telling you!

I’m off now to to edit the last chapters I’ve typed of ‘Wynter’ as I enjoy of David Coverdale’s voice *shivers* I could listen to him saying ‘Yeahhhh’ all my life! Buh-bye!

Just another boring Sunday...
And here I am, still sneezing and still coughing, not to mention that my back aches. Geez, and I'm only 22! I don't want to imagine what will happen to me when I'm 60!

My brother has been calling all our uncles to let them know that he's getting married on October 30th and it was a success, mostly because he avoids the family as much as possible *LOL* Some of my cousins that live away barely know him, so picture that...

I finally got a full night's sleep last night. I was almost afraid to go to bed in case I kept waking up every hour, but I didn't. I only woke up when I couldn't breath *LOL* That reminded me that I began this year in a very similar situation. Can you imagine having a flu in the middle of summer? Well, it always happens to me. I guess I'm unusual enough for that *grumbles*

I've been reading this fic called 'Dragonfly' at Devaeriel's site and it's quite good. The author's pen name is Viorith. It's a POTC fiction and I love it. It's about Will and a half African - half Spaniard girl. I guess the half Spaniard girl thing was what dragged my attention *LOL* I'm off to read the new two chapters!
